Attorney at Law
Erik grew up immersed in the family businesses from hospitality to agriculture, and from there grew a passion for business and learning. He is a native of Litchfield, Illinois and the seventh generation of his family to call Montgomery County home. A graduate of Litchfield High School, Erik received his undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Finance from Loyola University Chicago. During his undergraduate studies and prior to attending law school, Erik worked in the corporate offices of Hyatt Hotels, where he was involved in building the brand's first foray into the limited-service market, Hyatt Place.
A dedicated lifelong learner, Erik decided to return to the classroom and pursue something he had thought about since he was a child — becoming a lawyer. Erik received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from The University of Illinois — Chicago / John Marshall Law School. While in law school, Erik clerked for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, where he spent time as an assistant state's attorney after law school. In that fast-paced, high-volume office he developed his love of the courtroom. Having tried numerous criminal cases, felony and misdemeanor, before judges and juries, Erik's experience adds an additional dimension to the firm's practice. Erik is actively involved in a number of practice areas, focusing mainly in litigation.
Erik lives in Litchfield with his wife and their two sons. He is a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and is very active in his community. Erik spends most of his time outside and watching a lot of baseball, in which both of his sons are very active.
